Dr. Robert Waldinger, Physician, Masscahusetts General
We know that we need to go the gym to work our physical bodies out, and that we must visit a therapist to support our mental health, but where do we go to - and how do we - build our emotional intelligence?
Emotional Fitness Dojo is the place where, and the time when, you exercise your emotional body. Through our proprietary embodiment tools, with a proven formula, and alongside a coach who has transformed their own internal operating system via this intentional workout, you will experience deeper contentment along with greater ease and confidence within yourself as well as your closest relationships.

I am well versed with this work. AND I needed to be supported and witnessed in terms of feeling and releasing some of the mixed emotions I was carrying due to the dissolution of my marriage. I also needed the gentle reminder of the tools that are already in my tool belt for constructively coping with the messiness and discomfort I was experiencing. Cara’s attunement to me personally, to the moment at hand and to our time together, allowed us to get right to work and was super beneficial in terms of my shifting my energy out of a heavy lethargy and into more light-filled joy after just one session.

I often find myself in my head, preoccupied with my thoughts and then frustrated with how I am not being celebrated within our more neurotypical world (as well as my profession). Through the embodiment and self-awareness exercises Cara has shared with me, I experience more connection to myself and others. Cara has also helped me to identify emotional and physiological patterns that block my evolution and, under her tutelage, I have refined my own authentic movement pathways for coming back to my center as well as a clear vision for cogently communicating my ideas, desires and needs to others."

Cara and EFD have helped me bypass my brain and let me gain access to the energy that has been pressured to stay hidden over the decades. In just 3 sessions, I had a transformational breakthrough that has been instrumental in my self-love at a level I’ve never experienced. No amount of talk therapy throughout the years has helped me gain
Cara and EFD have helped me bypass my brain and let me gain access to the energy that has been pressured to stay hidden over the decades. In just 3 sessions, I had a transformational breakthrough that has been instrumental in my self-love at a level I’ve never experienced. No amount of talk therapy throughout the years has helped me gain this much awareness, nor help me embody my new findings as much as working with Cara.

with all my weight. I was invited to hold and be held. Cara's guidance is pure, unconditional love. She encourages a playful spirit and she welcomes all emotions and feelings to be felt and expressed. Her dense and confident energy is not to be missed. For an authentic experience of being and connecting, I highly recommend Cara's work.

Open communication makes a person more capable, strong-willed and caring. I am inspired by Cara's guidance at the task of bringing people down into their bodies. She guides us back to remembering how to support ourselves!

Cara H. Cadwallader has spent 35 years studying how she can connect more deeply with herself, and others. As an embodiment artist, educator and writer/philosopher, Mama Cara's research has taken her around our globe. She has taught embodiment abroad; is published on global platforms; and has been world, road and un-schooling her and Burt's young son for the last 6 years. She is your 1-on-1 guide on this journey.
It was Mama Cara's devotion to the authentic dance communities in San Diego County, California, that brought Burt Lo into her life.
Emotional Fitness Dojo is Burt's legacy brought to life after his January 2020 death. Burt was a man who had recovered his Spirit. After growing up an Asian minority in small town, USA; feeling lost and without purpose; and jumping into a toxic marriage in hopes of a 'cure' to his emotional pain, Burt finally turned inwards to address his codependencies and remember his passions. Which included caring about the mental health and emotional wellbeing of other men.
Mama Cara had been raised in a toxic environment where empathy was ridiculed and vulnerability frowned upon. In result, Mama Cara came to fear what she always wanted the most - which was to feel intimately connected to an/other(s).
In late 2011, Mama Cara and Papa Burt met. In fall 2014, their only son was born. Burt was a man of integrity, compassion, kindness, humor and humility. He was Mama Cara's ultimate teacher, as she was still recovering her Spirit from her early upbringing under the influence of TOXIC SHAME - defensiveness, judgement, criticalness, negativity, feelings of inadequacy, and more.
Emotional Fitness was the subject that Burt was most excited about during the last few years of his life. Unfortunately, a genetic cancer came knocking at their shared door, in mid-2018, and ultimately claimed Burt's life a year and a half later.
Since his death, and in the midst of Covid, political upheaval and environmental calamity, Cara created the embodiment exercises (that she was often telling Burt he needed for his Emotional Fitness programming), as well as diagrams and other proprietary Emotional Fitness Dojo tools, with which to heal herself, and their son, and then offer to others so that they can do the same.
